I'm a graphic designer and runner for over 38 years, born in Santiago, Chile. I started running by chance in 1998. I participated in my first marathon here in Santiago and finished with a time of 4 hours 35 minutes and weighed approximately 110 kilos. This was a great feat when I learned that this type of race required advance preparation. Due to a sedentary and routine work life, I had gained weight, and I resolved to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle through this sport.
I set goals for myself that I've gradually surpassed over time. One of them was that I would never stop participating in the Santiago Marathon, and that's how I've run this race for 25 years now. I am so grateful to God for seeing how much I have progressed and am amazed at how valuable it is to stay in shape, as it helps me cultivate the four important pillars of life (mind, heart, body, and spirit) and thus maintain balance.
